Reflow is a research project that seeks to understand and transform urban material flows, co-create and test regenerative solutions at business, governance, and citizen levels to create a resilient circular economy. Funded by EU H2020, the project involves 27 European partners. Diverse approaches to circularity are tested in six pilot cities across Europe focusing on different resource flows, such as textiles, waste-water or wood. At the heart of these pilots there is a productive ‘making’ approach that empowers citizens, engages policymakers and industry leaders.
In Reflow, I worked as an IAAC – Fab Lab Barcelona researcher, involved in the study of collaborative governance structures and approaches towards the Circular Economy. The core of this work, led by P2P lab, is condensed in the Reflow Collaborative Governance Toolkit.
Reflow’s Collaborative Governance Toolkit includes a series of resources and materials to support cities in steering the transition to circular and regenerative cities through public-private-people (& planet) collaborations.
My contribution in this line of work included writing about some collaborative governance case-studies, such as the The Fab City Global Initiative, support in the general structure of the toolkit, and the co-development of the Reflow Handbook, a preliminary resource with information on policy frameworks and city models on collaborative governance.
