The Barcelona Metropolitan Housing Observatory (OHB) has several research laboratories that analyse housing trends in the metropolitan region of the city. The Renovation Lab develops research on the potential for housing renovation, including how the housing stock could be increased through renovation and retrofitting initiatives. This lab analyses cadaster and licenses data to visualise and map the potential for new developments in the city. The OHB has developed a online housing maps viewer that shows some of the trends analysed and the conclusions developed in its labs.
During 2020 I worked as researcher and GIS analyst in the OHB. I processed and managed cadaster and construction licenses data. I developed maps, conclusions and reports, including a comparative study of housing renovation experiences in Europe.
